NOCHURN VS BAREMETRICS
Baremetrics Recover alternative: NoChurn vs Baremetrics
Baremetrics is a subscription analytics tool with Recover and Cancellation Insights as add-ons. NoChurn is a dedicated retention tool, priced by MRR, that covers failed payments, cancel flows and win-back.
- PRICEBy MRR, flatFree until $300 MRR, then from $9 a month.

Baremetrics is best known for subscription analytics: MRR, churn, LTV and the dashboards around them. Two add-ons cover retention. Recover handles failed payments, and Cancellation Insights collects cancel reasons and, more recently, shows retention offers. NoChurn is a retention tool only. It covers failed payments, cancel flows and win-back for teams on Stripe, or any billing through a REST API.

Where Baremetrics is a good fit
- You want analytics and retention from one vendor. If your finance or growth team already lives in Baremetrics dashboards, adding Recover or Cancellation Insights keeps everything in one place. NoChurn shows retention results, but it is not a full subscription metrics tool.
- You want SMS, in-app banners or a paywall for failed payments. Recover combines these with email in one sequence. NoChurn recovery runs over email and a hosted card update page.
- You are happy with Stripe Smart Retries and want better emails on top. That is how Baremetrics describes Recover working with Stripe.
- You prefer to pay on results for recovery. Baremetrics offers Recover at a percentage of recovered revenue as an alternative to the flat add-on.
Where NoChurn is different
One price for everything, by MRR. NoChurn is free until $300 MRR, then from $9/month, in small steps up to $399/month at $500k MRR. Failed payments, cancel flows and win-back are all included, with no add-ons. See pricing.
Never a cut of recovered revenue. There is no percentage option, now or later.
Recovery that can also handle retries. Retries can be timed to likely paydays and the customer’s local time, or you can keep Stripe Smart Retries. AI-written emails on days 0, 3, 7 and 14 are reviewed before sending, in the customer’s language. Replies are read and answered or routed to your team. See failed payments.
A complete cancel flow with click-to-cancel. Reason, matching offer (Stripe coupon, pause, downgrade or call), confirm, with a one-click “cancel now” on every step. Available to every account, not behind a flag.
Headless and MCP. Use the hosted modal with your theme and custom CSS, or build the flow in your own web, desktop, iOS or Android UI through the API. Coding agents can integrate it with our MCP server. See headless and MCP.
Churn score at signup. Each new customer gets a 0 to 100 score from payment method, signup source and custom data. Customers who remove their card before renewal trigger a save flow before the payment fails. See churn score.
Churn drivers, not just churn charts. Send any customer attribute or usage event. Statistics computed in code show which attributes go with churn, with sample size and confidence, and AI explains what to try. Correlation, not cause. See custom data.
NoChurn is new, with no customer results to cite. Baremetrics has years of production use.
Switching from Baremetrics
You do not have to drop Baremetrics analytics to use NoChurn for retention.
- Connect Stripe with the quickstart. It takes a few minutes.
- Turn off overlapping emails. If you move recovery to NoChurn, switch off Recover’s sequence for the customers NoChurn handles, so nobody gets two sets of emails.
- Recreate your cancel reasons and offers in NoChurn, and add win-back emails for each reason.
- Run both during a test period on separate customer groups, then compare recovered payments and saves for the same weeks.
- Keep Baremetrics for metrics if you like it, and cancel only the add-ons you no longer need.
How NoChurn helps
NoChurn recovers failed payments, keeps cancelling customers with honest offers, and wins back churned customers at 30, 60 and 90 days, for one flat price by MRR. Read how to calculate churn rate, predict churn with customer data, or see pricing.
